2017 Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
In 2016, while dropping off our food caches on the Wonderland Trail, we picked up a hitchhiker. We told him of the trails we were planning on hiking in 2017 starting with the Cotswold Way. Before we could even get “Way” out of our mouths, he told us to skip it and head to southwest Wales instead to hike the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. John told us it was a much better trail for us if we were the kind of people that would hike the Wonderland Trail. Boy, are we glad we listened to him.
The Coastal Path is just as its name says. With the ocean on our left at all times, we would have a hard time getting lost (yet we managed). Wales is a spectacular undiscovered hiking gem with rugged coasts, beautiful beaches, and the friendliest people we have met yet. There’s even a tad bit of history in this nation which has been settled since pre-Roman times.
